Dear Folks -

I have begun a new series in Ordinary Life. I’m calling it “Rethinking the Resurrection.” This week’s talk is “Looking for the Resurrection.”

All of my profession life I have been interested in putting psychological and “religious” principles together in a way that leads us into fulfilling our primary purposes on this planet. Namely, to grow in freedom and love. Over the past several years I have added to my self-understanding as a spiritual teacher that of contributing to religious and spiritual literacy.

As with many other stories from the Jewish-Christian tradition, the Easter story is one most people think they know. What images we carry about it, however, are very late in historical development; many of them from the Renaissance.

I’m trying to look at how the story developed.

We encounter many difficulties - translation being one.

Another is that most of us have been taught “what to look for” not how to see. I use the story of Humpty Dumpty to prove this point.
