The title I have given to the teaching I will offer this week in Ordinary Life is -

Finding What Cannot Be Found by Seeking

This is a reflection for us in this time on one of the most puzzling of the teachings attributed to Jesus - “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find.” Perhaps more people have given up on the church and Jesus because of a misunderstanding of this teaching than anything else. People in dire straits have begged, pleaded, bargained, etc. for their hurting heart’s desire only to have nothing happen.

 Yet, scholars say that this is one of the most authentic of Jesus’ teachings. We’ll delve into it this week in Ordinary Life.
