Learning to Listen

I want to begin today asking you to reflect out loud with me about some things.

As a way to provide a framework: My commitment is to learn about and then

teach what it means to live our lives growing in our capacity to be free, internally

and externally, and loving human beings. I have never felt that I had to reduce

the bucket from which I drew insights and lessons about this matter from any one

place. It has never, for example, made sense to me to divide the world into

sacred and secular.

What that leads to are labels like "secular humanist" and "religious bigot" and

things like that. (All labels, remember, are limiting and

temporary.)
