Dear Folks -
I built the "life talk" I offered in Ordinary Life this week around two things:
First, a prayer by Alan Paton titled "A Prayer for Courage to Do Justice."
Second, a recent survey that showed that the three favorite phrases people like to hear are, in this order, "I love you." "I forgive you." And, "Come to dinner."
Justice and inclusiveness are what a wise and useful spiritual path are all about.
The full text I tried to follow is below. If you want to see and enjoy the cartoons, you'll have to go to the Ordinary Life web site. You can find the audio version of the talk there as well.
Ordinary Life will not meet next week as it is Easter. Also, on April on April 22 we will have a guest speaker, Steven Fenberg, author of "Unprecedented Power: Jesse Jones, Capitalism and the Common Good will speak to us.
Much love,
Bill Kerley
