The talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week will be enhanced for you if you also view the presentation slides. As is usually the case, the audio version is somewhat different from the text from which I spoke. In making the journey from the “no-longer” to the “not-yet,” older ways of navigating are not only outmoded but also dangerous. Doctrines and dogmas, mainstays of organized religion, are not wise or useful. What is? In order to go forward we need what Bill Wilson, cofounder of AA, called “a vital spiritual experience.” In this talk I am suggesting that we use Jesus and his teachings as our GPS. If we are to do that, of course, we have to be open to the latest and best insights not only from biblical and theological scholarship but also from the world that I’m calling “quantum physics.” This leads us to a “quantum theology.” This is a brief summary of the time.
