Dear Folks -
The old story does not let us go quickly or easily. Even though in many places we can see that the way we are doing things isn’t working, it is hard to change the beliefs and behaviors that keep things the way that they are. Yet, we sense that something else, something more is possible. I’m in the midst of reading a collection of essays by Charles Eisenstein. They are collected in a book with this title: “The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible.” Yet, getting to that “more” is challenging.
If we are to move into the new, we have to understand the old. I’ve been in the process of deconstructing the teachings of Christian Fundamentalism. The one I began to look at this week is “the virgin birth.” My goal is to explore and amplify on what this belief did, does and might mean for the “more beautiful world our hearts know is possible." I called the talk -
