Dear Folks -
I called the talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week -
Setting a Trap To Be Captured By The Sacred
Dualistic mind wants to capture things - ideas, beliefs, God, etc. Non-dual mind knows that this is neither wise or useful.
My main goal in this talk was to address the question of how we can avoid being captured by the, largely unconscious, archetypes that are running and ruining this culture. In the hope of offering a "road map” for navigating the territory between the “no-longer” and the “not-yet,” I offered two models of faith development: that of Jim Fowler’s work and the “cosmic egg” as presented by Richard Rohr. We can use these to take advantage of the opportunity we have to respond to the invitation into Wisdom so that we can find the restful liberation that is the gift of the journey. The goal of our work is to experience the love that delivers us from the illusion that the outcome of any situation is the truth about us.
