The title of the talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week was
Missing the God Who Misses Us
There is, whether we are conscious of it or not, a deep yearning to be reconnected with our Source. Wise and useful religions are conveyor belts designed to “take us home.” (This image I got from Ken Wilber.) The religion of American culture, consumerism, which leads people to find meaning in power, position and possessions; fails us.
In this talk I used a short story by William Faulkner to elaborate on what the “spiritual work” is that can help in our journey of reconnection.
