Dear Folks -

I called the talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week -

Being Open to a “Yes And . . .” Life
The Joys of Religious and Spiritual Decluttering

In the talk I attempted to confront the fact that our country suffers from the consequences of an unrecognized and unacknowledged addiction. The addiction to control and power masks a deep-seated fear and insecurity. It shows up in our need to be right and exceptional. At its worse it shows up in a violent disregard for human life. The obsession with accumulating massive weaponry, both individually and collectively, and the mass shooting incidents that now occur on a regular basis in our country are merely symptoms of this addiction. If not addressed our future will continue down the path we are currently on. There is a way out. We must face up to our collective addiction and begin to love each other as if our lives depended on it. They do.
