Dear Folks -

We called the teaching we offered in Ordinary Life this week -

Seeing the “Hind Parts” of God

That phrase comes from a story about an encounter Moses had with God. Moses had asked to see God’s face. God says, “No, you can’t see my face. But I am going to put you in this cleft of the rock and cover you with my hand. Then, I will pass by. After I have passed by, I will remove my hand and you can see my ‘hind parts.’” In the Beatitude we based this time on Jesus says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Or, as Eugene Peterson puts it - “You are blessed when you get your inside world - your mind and heart - put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.” Holly Hudley amplifies on the consistent way Jesus challenged conventional wisdom, diagnosed the human condition and offers a way of transformation.

That is a very brief summary of our time in Ordinary Life this week.
