Merry Christmas & Happy Solstice everyone! We keep it light this week with a couple of seasonal readings. This is one of the times of year around which the Christian calendar hinges, and more than anything it is about a new light coming into the world. You, too, are that light. This time of year is also the winter solstice, which just so happens to have aligned with the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter. I got a chance to look at it through a powerful enough telescope so that I could see the rings of Saturn and 5 of Jupiter’s moons! Funny that 400 years after the church condemned Galileo for proving Copernicus’ wild notion that our solar system is heliocentric, we celebrate his accomplishments by looking with awe. What crazy ideas might we have right now that might actually prove to be life giving?
