Dear Folks -

We called our time together in Ordinary Life this week -

The Spiritual “Dark Matter” That Holds It All Together

The time is about Right Concentration, the Eight Step in the Eightfold Path of Buddhism. It is about how to use the mind and/or the brain to apprehend and express all the other steps in the Eightfold Path. Right Concentration is about developing the ability to bring more and more of our awareness to the reality of the Self and to the Essence in which we live. It is the “glue” that holds the other steps together and makes them “work." To encounter the Self is to encounter the other and this is love. Please see the presentation slides for the Tree of Contemplative Practices to see the rich and diverse possibilities that exist for having a “daily spiritual practice."

That is a very brief summary of our time in Ordinary Life this week.

You can find the text we had in front of us, the presentation slides and the audio version of the talk using the links below. The printed text contains much more content that we were able to offer in the live presentation.

Also, be aware that we have instituted a weekly podcast. It is called “In Between.” You can access this through the Ordinary Life website.

If you are reading this, I want you to know how grateful I am for and to you.

Be well and much love,

Bill Kerley
