As for this week in Ordinary Life -
Each of us has a worldview that we use to inform us how and why things are the way they are and what we can do to make them better. Most of the time we are likely not aware of our worldview. It was given to us in the process of our becoming conscious and learning how to function in the world. Each country or culture has its own worldview. In this talk Holly Hudgley and I give examples of several. The point is that we don’t see things the way they are. We see things the way we are. If we operate by a worldview that is not “life-enhancing,” there will be no change until and unless we let go of the worldview we have and replace it with a wiser and more useful one. This entails a loss that our ego resists. The talk is based on the beatitude, “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.” We called it -
