Dear Folks -

First, if you in need of any kind of assistance in dealing with the aftermath of the recent winter storm here, please go to the St. Paul’s website and see the available options for relief. Though water service has been largely restored across the area, so very many people experienced frozen and burst water pipes that they do not have water. St. Paul’s is teaming up with a wide variety of sources and agencies to provide relief. On the other hand, if you are in condition to offer assistance, please check for volunteer opportunities. This past week has been an ordeal for us all and for some much more so than others.

Second, the link to register for the webinar with John Tucker, author of “Zero Theology,” is now available. click here I strongly encourage you to purchase his book and read it by March 9. Reading it will stretch and challenge you. However, the content of the book is an indication of the “theology of the future.” Whether you read the book or not, this is going to be a rich opportunity for theological learning and discussion.

This week in Ordinary Life we gave this title to what we had to say -

Everything You’ve Always Wanted to Know About God - But, Were Afraid to Ask

I began with a story, a modern day parable, about how we might learn to navigate the stormy times in which we live. It involves both a reliance on science and an openness to the unknown. The “Sacred Mystery” we seek to know is both “scary” and “alluring.” Paradoxically, as soon as we have described our exile from the world, we have already put ourselves on the path back home. Mystery is not that which is unknowable. Mystery is that which is endlessly knowable.

That is a very brief summary of our time in Ordinary Life this week. This is one of those weeks where the text and the audio are different and where viewing the presentation slides is helpful.

You can find the text we had in front of us, the presentation slides and the audio version of the talk using the links below.

Also, be aware that we have instituted a weekly podcast. It is called “In Between.” You can access this through the Ordinary Life website.

If you would like to know how to make a contribution to Ordinary Life, click here for video instructions.

If you are reading this, I want you to know how grateful I am for and to you.

Be well and much love,

Bill Kerley
