Dear Folks -
What is God’s will? Does God have a will for every person’s life? Why do “bad things” happen to “good people”? These are a few of the questions we attempted to deal with in Ordinary Life this week. We are using phrases from the Lord’s Prayer in an effort to find both courage and guidance in navigating this time of chaos and divisiveness. One of the things we said is that the most pressing theological issue of our time and of our lives is to open the door to a new kind of religious and spiritual future by closing the door on a mistaken and inadequate notion of God.
That is a very brief summary of Ordinary Life for this week. We called the time -
Comforting the Afflicted and Afflicting the Comfortable.
You can find the text we had in front of us, the presentation slides and the audio version of the talk using the links below.
Also, be aware that we have instituted a weekly podcast. It is called “In Between.” You can access this through the Ordinary Life website.
