I began what I offered in Ordinary Life this week with a reminder of the roles of “mythos” and “logos” in the world where parables were created. We live in a world where “mythos” is either not known about or disdained. Elevating “logos” to the level we have has been detrimental to us and our culture in many ways. Faith is not a body of material to believe but a path to walk.

This talk focuses on the first son in the parable of the compassionate father and his two lost sons. It is a story primarily about radical inclusion and celebration. Christianity stands or fails on its fidelity to the outsider. I called the talk -
