WEEKLY PODCAST | In Between.113

Last week, when we skipped our podcast, Bill asked, “Is that alright?” My reply was, “It’s not so much the recording that motivates me. It’s our conversations, and we’ll have those while we unpack boxes.”

So Bill & Sherry got moved! While the physical moved is nearly done, I am guessing the emotional move will take a longer time to unpack. I know I still dream about the childhood house that I, to date, lived in the longest. Home is, indeed, where the heart (and mind and soul and body) is. Here’s to Bill and Sherry making a new home.

Newton’s 3rd Law states that for every reaction, there is an equal and opposite reaction. That is true in all things, for without understanding the opposite of a thing, we cannot revel in the thing itself. We cannot appreciate the night sky without the transition from day. This week we are taught to live in gratitude, and there is simultaneously a tremendous amount of grief present because of the proliferation of public gun violence. We suffer from a spiritual illness, a disconnect from the sacred other, and from ourselves. But the opposite is also available. We can heal, we can experience joy, we can spread love, and abide in grace. Let us bring forth more of what we want to see in the world.

Two recommendations for this week: The Book of Joy with Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama and, in celebration of the World Cup, the movie “The Cup” found on Amazon Prime.

The Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu share a sweet moment.
