WEEKLY PODCAST | In Between.086

Our country is in transition.

Our church is in transition.

Our class is in transition. What happens at the large level happens at the small, too. They mirror one other. And while we have fixed ideas about certain things, nothing is static. We, it, everything, is in constant transition.

We name things like the “Mississippi River,” give it a fixed name, and yet the river is always changing, from one second to the next.

There is a lot of energy floating around in Ordinary Life, and as we lean into the learning, the change, and the healing, let the chatter quiet and just hear what is available in terms of growth. You will not be the same once you finish reading this. You will not be the same whether you choose to listen or not. You are, we all are, changing right now. Embrace it as it embraces you.

Cornel West has said that all acts of love (change included) require a kind of death. For real, true, love to transpire, the death is inevitably to the ego. We have such different ways of responding to change and grief, and all of those things are “up” right now in our own community. When we can name these things, emotions, experiences, change, we also begin to heal. This podcast is our effort toward naming and healing.

We hope you will listen.
