Dear Ones -

We as a country and world have entered a dark and troublesome time. One reason for this is that we are addicted to denial and illusion. One place this shows up is in the number of mass shootings that occur in this country on a daily basis. The last sign story in the Gospel of John, the raising of Lazarus, leads us into an exploration of the dark night of the soul. How can we experience being delivered from the bondage of the darkness in which we life? There is no freedom without admitting our addictions. The “dark night” is where we experience grace that sets us free. I called the time -
