Dear Folks -
Two of my favorite quotes from Albert Einstein are:
First, “No problem can be solved with the same level of consciousness that created it.”
If we are going to move from the story of separation that is destroying human community and the globe, we have to do the work to realize a different level of consciousness. At one time we lived in a world view where there were more “trusted” voices than we seem to have to day. Why the change to what we have today?
Second, he said, “There are only two ways to live life. One is as if nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is a miracle.”
To take miracles literally, however, is to skim their surface. Such superficiality is the “sin” of our time.
One story that is taken by some as being literally true is that of “Jonah and the Whale.” It is not literally true but it is of profound significance. Especially in our world and in our culture.
That is a very brief summary of the talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week. I called it -
"Living Life As A Miracle”
