ORDINARY LIFE - Thoughts and Ideas to Help You Live a Happier Life

Summary for June 17, 2018

Dear Folks -
I called this week's talk -
“Eat Your Spiritual Brussels Sprouts. They Are Good For You."
At the beginning of this talk, I gave an overview of the theory of “quantum theology” that somewhat describes the gap we are living in between the “No-Longer” and the “Not-Yet.” The defining feature of this way of seeing things is that we bring into being the reality we know and perceive. Some people see this as a very liberating thing and others react to it with great fear. One of the fearful reactions is that of “fundamentalism.” Fundamentalism desires to define and control and claims to have “the truth.” Fundamentalism always devolves into the demonic and the violent. Sometimes this has “soft” forms but usually not.
I am undertaking the task of exposing modern Christian Fundamentalism as the poison it is. For some, this means investigating topics that at first might seem “off-putting” or “boring.” For example, this week we begin to look at the claims Fundamentalists make about the Bible. At any rate, I don’t believe that this is material we can gloss over. Especially if we seek to put more life-enhancing spiritual beliefs and practices in place in our lives. That is why this week’s talk has the title that it does.
That is a very brief summary or the talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week.
