WEEKLY PODCAST | In Between.033

We will take up with the Sermon on the Mount again this week, and we find ourselves at the portion that talks about our words: what we say matters. We recorded this podcast as the events on Wednesday unfolded in DC, not yet knowing it would result in violent insurgence. But the events are an excellent example of how words impact actions. We are again, as a nation, presented with that to which we need to reconcile ourselves. Part of it is getting comfortable with telling the truth, with uncertainty, with not knowing how this life and even this season will unfold itself. It is also a willingness to engage in the messy middle, or the In Between. What does sacred mystery expect of us? What does our humanity demand of us in this space? Until the moment of death, we are always in the in between. Beyond that I cannot speculate, but I cannot underestimate that what we say and do in this life matters

It is necessary to maintain a commitment to hope, but realistic, active hope that also asks us to do and be better, to live from a place of love and justice. It starts with our thoughts and words. If we are involved in the ongoing process of psychological and spiritual growth, we commit ourselves to both God and the evolution of consciousness, to the betterment of the world. If there is a will of God, it is here: to be a contributing part of the ongoing, mysterious process of evolution. Thanks for listening, and we’ll see you Sunday.
