Dear Ones -
We called the time in Ordinary Life this week -
Creative Maladjustment
The deeper meaning of the “water into wine” story is that we must be able to endure discomfort to have the radical imagination our world, life and social institutes need for radical transformation. It is not about dreaming about a different future but, rather, bringing that different future into the present. Jesus is a model and guide for this kind of creative maladjustment. The meaning of this story is: When you are considering the story of the God who has come among us, remember that at the bottom of everything is God’s will to cram your life with animation and joy. What is required to make this a reality is a committed practice of contemplation.
That’s a brief summary of the time in Ordinary Life this week.
