Dear Ones -

We called the time in Ordinary Life this week -

Anger and Rage

Finding Wisdom for Cooling the Flames

The title comes from Thich Nhat Hanh’s book, “Anger.” This week we dealt with an incident in the Gospel of John called “the cleansing of the temple” and sought to see the relevance this story has for our times and lives. We live in what seems like a growing and bubbling cauldron of anger and rage. We have only two ways to be in this world. We cal live proactively out of a set of values, hopefully these are peace, love, joy, patience and humility. Or, we can live reactively out of fear and hurt. Prophetic rage is used to make the community of empowerment a reality and can never be separated from love.

That’s a brief summary of the time in Ordinary Life this week.
