SUNDAY LECTURE | Thunder in the Desert

Summary of Ordinary Life for September 19, 2021

* * *

Dear Friends -

Thank you for being with us on Sunday!

As I mentioned in the preview, the title for Sunday’s class came straight from the book of John -

Thunder in the Desert

Except for that it is never straight because this line, John 1:23, has two accepted translations: “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness” and “I am the thunder in the Desert.” It is John’s yelp for things to come, for the sometimes lamenting and sometimes resounding works of Jesus that are about healing, wholeness, and liberation. I also took us through the process of active imagination, which can absolutely be employed as we enter the Book of Signs, or miracles of Jesus.
