Dear Ones -
Reminder: The Ordinary Life Christmas Party is this Friday. For details click here.
Stephen Klineberg is always someone who is both informative and exciting to listen to. This week in Ordinary Life was no exception.
He and his students have conducted intensive interviews of more than 50,000 Houstonians over the years. What is now known as “The Kinder Houston Survey” is the most extensive such survey of any urban area in the world. The findings are stunning as they show the trends developing all over the globe.
Of course, he could only scratch the surface in his talk. If you want access to the entire content of the most recent survey, click here.
There is no text or slide presentation available but you can listen to or watch the presentation by going to the Ordinary Life website.
Next week in Ordinary Life I will resume teaching. Though I have been immensely grateful for being able to take “take off” to make a major “life transition,” I have deeply missed the teaching aspect of my life and work.
Also, please register for the Jan Phillips event we are having the first full weekend in January. In case you missed it, here is information about Jan Phillips.
Registration is NOW open for both in person and live-stream attendance. Click here to be taken there.
Using music, poetry, video and storytelling, Jan will lead us in a group pondering that will lead to clarity and purposefulness.
• Create a faith of justice and joy
• Feel the joy of your heart and brain working as one
• Open yourself to the support of your community
• Discern the service you’re being called to now
Jan Phillips is founder and executive director of the Livingkindness Foundation, a TED Talk speaker, and co-founder of Syracuse Cultural Workers, publishers of artwork for social justice. She performed with Pete Seeger at a benefit concert for Haiti and opened for Jane Goodall at a Kinship With All Life Conference in San Francisco. Jan made a peace pilgrimage around the world, worked with Mother Teresa and her sisters in Nepal and Calcutta, and presented workshops on peacemaking and social justice in 23 countries. As a multi-media artist, she weaves storytelling, video, music and poetry into her presentations to keep the brain and heart connected. Still On Fire is her 11th book.
